“The Dock of The Bay” (2021) is a music video that tells the story of Abel, a young musician who dreams of becoming a famous singer. Stranded with a broken guitar and little money, he reflects on the life he left behind and wonders if his dream is all worth it.
I created “The Dock of The Bay” (2021) during my second year at HKU,
to accompany one of my dad’s favorite songs, "(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay"
by Otis Redding.
The animated music video is both a tribute to my parents journey from
the Caribbean to the Netherlands and a reminder to fight for my dreams.
